Enema

Enema

An enema is a procedure in which liquid is inserted into the rectum and colon through the anus to help remove fecal matter or to administer medication. The liquid used in an enema is usually water, but other substances may be used to soften stools or treat medical conditions.

Enemas can be done for various reasons, including constipation, bowel preparation before medical procedures or surgery, and medication administration. They are also sometimes used in alternative medicine practices as a means of cleansing the colon.
